The huge rear greenhouse on the old Barracuda's is a wonderful thing. One of my favorite features about the car. Sometimes the mid 60's Cuda's seem to be forgotten. Shame really they were excellent cars.

That alone makes the car expensive.

They were Valiants with a different roof, instead of a whole lower body on the compact platform like Mustang. The rear interior was however particularly awesome. Especially the inexplicable chrome towel bar. An option was a mostly integrated AC system, and with that window probably a necessity.

That was the problem. Chrysler wasn't ambitious enough and Ford stole their thunder, even though they had "first mover" advantage in what became known as the pony car segment. Heck, if Chrysler had put more money into unique sheet metal, it might have been named the "fish car" segment instead.

As a kid I rode in the wayback in one of those. More room than you'd think, especially when you're 7.

one of my uncles had a 66 when I was a kid and it was a neat car to ride in, 318 and a 4 speed. that rear piece of glass just made the car super hot inside. Another uncle of mine just bought a 66 project cant wait to see that on the road.

I can't imagine the greenhouse effect this window gave off.

I imagine it was quite a fun car to be in. Even with a 318 I am sure it gave a good little kick.

it was decent. I was already tainted by torque when at the same time my grandpa had a 67 427 Corvette
